Qualifications
Our Copyright group in our Connectivity, Privacy, & Information Practice is seeking a highly qualified and versatile mid-level associate (four years’ experience minimum) with a strong interest in copyright, AI, and online media, capable of fluently navigating transactional and advisory work, as well as litigation.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with one of Europe’s leading practitioners in digital media and with our market leading US copyright practice, tackling complex legal and business challenges at the intersection of digital technologies, copyright, and media law. You will provide strategic advice to online media clients on cutting-edge issues with a focus on digital copyright, artificial intelligence, internet law, and music law.
Key areas of responsibility would include:
- Advising on copyright issues under EU and English law
- Advising on multi-territorial music licensing and interactions with collecting societies
- Navigating IT and software law
- Addressing sector-specific regulations, such as the EU AI Act, the AVMS Directive, the EU Data Strategy, the EECC, and the Digital Services Act
- Facilitating content-based transactions and acquisitions
- Product Counselling including advising on smart and connected devices
This unique opportunity would suit an ambitious associate ready to work at the forefront of innovation in digital media law, providing strategic insights and solutions to leading industry clients.
- A minimum of four years' experience in litigation and/or transactional and regulatory work
- Demonstrated interest in online media issues
- Admission to practice as a Solicitor of England & Wales; dual admission with an EU bar desirable
