Why Latham?

We’re meritocratic

We are an open and supportive community, where every opinion matters.

We’re ambitious

We look for keen, creative thinkers who can help us continue to break new ground with our clients.

We’re inclusive

Latham is a firm where who you are, and your journey so far, is just as important as your academic grades. We care about people — not just about their work.

We’re invested in you

Through open feedback and mutual respect, you’ll have all the resources you need to be the best lawyer you can be.

But don’t just take our word for it — take a look at what our people have to say…

“I definitely felt quite nervous when I first joined Latham. If I could go back, I’d tell myself to remember that everyone is in the same position and feels exactly the same. I found both training and spending time with the rest of my intake to be really beneficial.”

Katie Henshall, 2020 NQ

“Attending an open day convinced me to apply for a vacation scheme at Latham. I did four vacation schemes at different firms in total, and Latham’s refreshing, entrepreneurial culture appealed to me the most. My advice to any student would be to do a vacation scheme! You’ll gain great insight into the work that lawyers do and the culture of a firm.”

Hafza Hussein, 2020 NQ

“The reality of being at a big firm like Latham is that you’re given real responsibility from day one. That’s what’s helped me to get the best out of myself. Firm mentors are great for answering any questions you might have, and they offer good advice. The supervisors have all had trainees before, and they’re all really understanding of the demands on us.”

Luke Vaz, 2020 NQ

Diversity & Pro Bono

We want every one of our people to bring their diverse perspectives to Latham. Working alongside our lawyers and staff who represent a range of races, sexual orientations, genders, and religions, you’ll be part of a global organisation that thrives off this diversity.

Pro Bono

Pro bono is a cornerstone of Latham’s culture, part of our longstanding commitment to give back to the communities where we live and work.

Since 2000, Latham has provided more than 3.7 million hours of free legal services to individuals of limited means and the organizations who serve them.

In 2019, 91% of Latham lawyers contributed pro bono work, and we opened nearly 900 new pro bono matters.
